Work Experience // Chloe McCombe & Ryan Carter

Ryan

Hi, I'm Ryan and I’ve just completed a weeks work experience at StrawberryToo! I came to the studio seeking valuable experience in a working graphic design role.

I was given a real design brief which required me to flex my creative muscles and produce a brand and materials such as posters, leaflets, and other promotional products for a new sushi restaurant. From start to finish, the helpful and friendly Tooers made me feel like a part of the team, and they were always at hand to help me out if I needed them.

My time here has allowed me to gain an insight into what a real design agency is like. There’s been so much to learn in such a short space of time, but the StrawbToo environment is so in sync with work and cooperation that it was always a pleasure to be learning new techniques.

This week has been a fantastic experience and has helped me prepare for when I graduate and take on the real world! I hope to work with StrawberryToo again in the future to once again have the opportunity to work as part of this fantastic group.

The week has gone too quickly! Thanks, guys!

Hi, I’m Chloe and I’ve just finished a week of marketing work experience here at StrawberryToo! I’m currently about to enter my third year of studying Business & Marketing at the University of Lincoln.

I spent my week working on a range of client briefs, ranging from writing a press release for a local personal trainer, to researching for the Yorkshire Dales Food & Drink Festival - something that surprised me the most, as I didn’t expect to be working on real briefs for actual clients!

At first, I was quite nervous, as it was so different to anything I’ve done before, but everyone in the team made me feel welcome and any nerves were soon gone. Rachel and Beckie were really helpful when it came to explaining the briefs and what the clients were looking for - so a massive thank you to them!

I really enjoyed my week here at the studio, as no brief was the same and each day brought something new. It was quite interesting trying to think of new ideas for social media content and I enjoyed challenging myself on how to approach each task.

Working on the social media aspect of the briefs was really interesting as it was something different to what I’ve already done as part of my degree. Additionally, it gave me a real insight on what a future career in marketing would involve and has helped me plan my next steps for when I graduate next year.

Overall, my week at StrawberryToo was really useful and I’d like to thank everyone at the studio for giving me the opportunity!
